Are you looking for the Hot Yoga variant in real Bikram Style? Then you’ve come to the right place.
The Hot Yoga Bikram Style is a 60-minute class. The basis of this class is the well-known Bikram yoga series. There is always a fixed sequence of 26 postures performed each 1 time and fixed two breathing exercises (Pranayama). The postures are performed in a warm room of about 38 degrees.
Please note, the space at Lively Yoga is not heated as known for regular Bikram classes with heated air. Lively Yoga uses infrared panels (Far Infrared Thermal Therapy) which, in addition to the heat, have an incredibly healthy effect on your body and mind.
Warm air only heats up the outside of the skin, which, like Bikram, causes rapid transpiration as soon as you step into the room. With infrared, the long (read more about difference in infrared waves at the FAQ) waves warm the body from the inside out. This also has a different feel and experience effect than the familiar warm air blown in at a standard Bikram class. Heating with infrared brings more benefits; among them, it warms up your joints, muscles and deeper connective tissue from the inside out. This alone has a healing effect on the body and mind. It is therefore also described from China and Japan as ‘Far Infrared Thermal Therapy’. So in addition to the healthy effect that Hot Yoga Bikram Style has by performing the poses in a warm space, the infrared panels also have a healing effect on your body and mind for 90 minutes.
At Lively Yoga, we believe that “Listening to your own Body” is extremely important. For this reason, Bikram Yoga is performed, looking at what suits your body in order to avoid injury. Unlike regular Bikram Yoga, where no deviation from the pose is allowed.
