Pilates is a great style to combine with yoga. Pilates focuses on strengthening the muscles and body. The foundation is the core/abdominal muscles. When you have strong abdominal muscles, it relieves the back tremendously. This is because we can then “hang” nmore in our abdominal muscles instead of our back muscles which we usually do automatically. Strong abdominal muscles, among other things, help reduce back pain.
In addition to training the abdominal muscles, attention is also paid to make the rest of the body stronger such as the back, legs and buttocks. An overall workout that also brings back strength and more grow in your yoga practice.
The Hot Pilates class is held in a heated therapeutic room of approximately 30C. The therapeutic heat gives more room for the muscles and connective tissue to relax. The heat also gives an ultimate relaxing feeling for the body and mind. Read more about the effect of therapeutic heat in the room here.
