YIN YANG FLOW WORKSHOP
Friday 11TH OF OCTOBER 7 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Start your weekend with a soft yin practice flown into a gentle yang practice. It is the perfect combination to balance the yin and the yang energy in the body.
Nothing is ever fully yin or yang, it all depends on what you compare it to. In yoga, we need both elements to promote good health.
In this practice, we will explore poses that are more yin in nature, static and held for longer periods of time using props & relaxed muscles. The focus is on releasing tension in the yin tissues of the body, connective tissue or fascia. We will also focus on harmonizing the metal element. The lung & large intestine meridians are paired to this element which gets easily out of balance during autumn and can use some extra care. These meridians run through the upper body so we will attend to the rest of the body but spend extra time opening the chest & shoulder area.
During other poses, we are looking for muscular engagement, slow flow movements, raising the heartbeat and energy level, more yang. Here it’s all about the yang tissues of the body the muscles, to improve strength & stability.
The yang sequences are designed by Paul & Suzee Grilley and are a great, gentle way to add some movement into your yin practice.
Combining yin & yang elements will leave you feeling rejuvenated and ready to enjoy your weekend the fullest.
